PGG Wrightson auctioneer helps raise $100,000 plus for Farmstrong

PGG Wrightson is proud to be associated with the annual Norwood Charity Golf Tournament in support of Farmstrong, a golf day fund-raiser, plus dinner and auction, which this year raised $106,925 for the rural well-being charity.

Kevin Mortensen, PGG Wrightson Regional Livestock Manager - Te Kuiti ran the event’s charity auction, which was MC-ed by radio personality Jamie McKay. Auction items ranged from golf gear, toys, food and wine to corporate media packages, hand crafted goods and sporting and entertainment experiences. Notable auction sales on the night included $10,000 worth of NZME radio advertising that sold for $21,000 and a golfing holiday package that made $10,000.

Nineteen teams of four participated in the golf day and 82 people attended the evening festivities, held at Wairakei Golf + Sanctuary, Taupo. Guests each received a copy of the Farmstrong book of farmer stories ‘Live Well Farm Well.’
