Flexible Selling Methods
Livestock can be sold through saleyards, privately, to meat processors (via PGG Wrightson), or purchased back by the farmer

Transparent Cost Structure
All Go-Stock fees are clearly outlined before livestock is purchased, with no changes during the contract period and no charges if you decide not to fill an approved purchase request.

Unlock Capital from Existing Livestock
PGW can purchase livestock you already own, providing a cash injection while allowing you to continue farming the stock.

What happens when it's time to sell the stock?

In consultation with your PGW livestock rep, you decide when and where to sell the stock - store, prime or buy back. We use our livestock agency services and nationwide network of livestock reps to buy and sell the stock.

You receive the trading margin from the stock, less the fees and normal selling costs. The GO-STOCK fee is calculated per head and is based on purchase price and the length of time on the GO-STOCK contract.

All of the above is subject to our GO-STOCK contract terms.

GO-STOCK FAQs

Who owns the livestock while they are on GO-STOCK?

PGG Wrightson owns the livestock whilst they are on GO-STOCK, while you farm and manage them as part of your normal farming operation. This allows you to increase livestock numbers without having to fund the upfront purchase cost yourself.

Can I use GO-STOCK for livestock I already own?

Yes. GO-STOCK may be available for livestock you already own, subject to approval and eligibility criteria. This can help release capital tied up in livestock while allowing you to continue farming them on your property.

Who decides when the livestock are sold?

You work alongside your PGG Wrightson Livestock Representative to determine the best time and market for sale. This provides flexibility to align selling decisions with farming objectives and market opportunities.

    How is my return calculated?

When the livestock are sold, the sale proceeds are used to cover the original livestock purchase value, GO-STOCK fees and standard selling costs. The remaining amount is paid to you as the trading margin.

How long can I keep the livestock for?

The length of each GO-STOCK product depends on the livestock type. We have a range of products for beef, sheep, deer and dairy operations. Your livestock representative will discuss suitable products with you so you can decide which best meets your requirements.

What makes GO-STOCK different from traditional livestock finance?

Instead of funding stock purchases through a loan, PGG Wrightson purchases and owns the livestock while you grow and manage them on-farm. That means no upfront livestock purchase costs and no finance repayments during the term. When the stock is sold, you receive a margin based on the sale outcome. Note: margins will vary depending on stock values and the profit achieved at sale.

Do I need to hold a PGW account to use Go-Stock products?

Yes. If you do not currently have a PGW account, you will need to open one before you can be assessed for GO-STOCK. Talk to your local livestock rep about this or contact the GO-STOCK team.

How long does the application process take?

Typically purchase requests are approved within 48 hours once the Master Contract is in place. It is a quick and easy process – talk to your local livestock rep to get started or contact our GO-STOCK team directly.
