Cereal Seed
PGG Wrightson Grain currently produce and supply a significant number of proprietary cereal cultivars. The portfolio includes milling, feed and biscuit wheats plus ryecorn, triticale and feed barley.

Supporting the large cereal portfolio is one of the largest Research and Development programmes which provides real benefits to the New Zealand arable industry.

PGG Wrightson Seeds has implemented a Quality Assurance programmed called SEEDTRAC®. SEEDTRAC® processes are aimed at minimising the risk of contamination and/or substitution of seedlots.

Agronomy

PGG Wrightson Grain is committed to ensuring the profitability of its cereal growers by running Cereal Agronomy Groups throughout the South Island, facilitated by independent specialist agronomists. This extension advisory service is fully supported with ongoing field trials aimed at optimising yield while remaining focused on the overall cost of production. These trials concentrate on cultivar evaluation and refined agronomic management including new chemistry evaluation.

In addition to this on-farm research, agronomy group membership provides; 6 on-farm group meetings, a technical newsletter to follow each meeting, access to a benchmarking/crop recording service, a soil N testing and recommendation service, access to some of the UK’s top research scientists at ADAS via an exclusive research contract, the annual cereal agronomy field day and a chance to be involved in a positive progressive group of like minded individuals.
